about

As I was writing and recording a poem came out. I couldn't satisfactorily write it into lyric - like a mental block against being slowed or fastened. So yeah- it stayed as it was. and in the end I liked it. It was also a natural follower to 'Death is a seed'- walking some of the same ground and making personal the previous concept.

lyrics

Mourning the loss of spring
the memory of yesterday's season
So stuck looking backwards
clambering to hold on
fighting to let go
clinging to the known
and desperate to put it down

And so I will take this seed I hold
crouch low into the ground
humble myself to the inevitable
and let it all be buried

For the rain and snow come down from the heavens
for the seed must fall to the earth and die
The water will cause the grain to grow
seed for the farmer, bread for the hungry

Mourning the loss of spring
the memory of yesterday's season
So stuck looking backwards
clambering to hold on
fighting to let go
clinging to the known
and desperate to put it down

But I do
And I turn around
